GD Goenka University, Department of Energy Engineering offers the following energy programs:
B.Tech Energy Engineering is a 4 year B.Tech degree, that comes with three specializations of Renewable Energy, Nuclear Energy or Oil&Gas. The students study the first two years in the fundamental subjects of energy engineering and in their last 2 years they take courses related to their specialization. Hence, students choose their specialization at the beginning of their third year. In the final year they have to do either 6 months internship or semester exchange abroad and there are also dual degree opportunities. This career is suitable for the engineers who wish to work in renewable sector, nuclear sector or petroleum and oil&gas sector.
M.Tech Nuclear Energy Engineering is a 2 year MTech degree. The first year of the M.Tech Nuclear Energy Engineering Program is at GD Goenka University where the student will take the core courses, while the second year is completely abroad at a corresponding study abroad program and/or 6 months internship.
Master’s in Nuclear Energy Engineering is a good program for those engineers who wish to work in nuclear engineering sectors such as reactors, non-destructive testing, medical fields and research.
M.Tech Renewable Energy Engineering is a 2 year MTech degree. The first year of the M.Tech Nuclear Energy Engineering Program is at GD Goenka University where the student will take the core courses, while the second year is completely abroad at a corresponding study abroad program and/or 6 months internship.
Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering is a good program for those engineers who wish to work in renewable energy sector such as Solar Power, Wind Power, Marine Power, Hydropower and Biomass among others.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Energy Engineering degree is intended for students who desire a career in research, advanced development, or teaching. Students in the PhD in Energy Engineering program obtain a broad education in the core areas of Energy Systems, Renewable Energy and Nuclear Energy through coursework, while also engaging in intensive research in a specialized area, resulting in a doctoral thesis.
